Aadya was known in her school as the “Explorer Girl” because she loved adventures. One evening, as she was organizing her bookshelf, an old brass compass fell out of a forgotten box. It had strange engravings on it and looked ancient. When Aadya picked it up, the compass needle spun wildly before stopping, pointing toward her window.
Curious, she whispered, “Where do you want me to go?” and suddenly, the compass glowed softly. She followed its direction, stepping out into the quiet street. It led her past the park, past the bakery, and toward an old neighborhood she barely visited.
At the corner, she saw an elderly man struggling to carry bags of groceries up the stairs to his home. Aadya rushed forward. “Let me help you!” she said cheerfully, taking some bags from him. The man smiled warmly, “Thank you, dear. My knees aren’t as strong as they used to be.”
As soon as she placed the bags inside his home, the compass glowed again and changed direction. Intrigued, Aadya continued to follow it. This time, it led her to a small playground where a younger girl sat alone on a bench, looking sad. Aadya sat beside her.
“Are you okay?” she asked gently.
The girl hesitated, then whispered, “I lost my bracelet. It was my grandma’s gift.”
Aadya thought for a moment, then said, “Let’s look for it together!” She searched through the grass and bushes, and after a few minutes, her fingers touched something cool and round. “Found it!” she exclaimed, holding up the bracelet.
The little girl’s face lit up. “Thank you! You’re the best!”
Just as Aadya was about to leave, she noticed the compass in her pocket. The needle had stopped spinning. Instead, it pointed right at her heart. Suddenly, she understood—this wasn’t an ordinary compass. It wasn’t leading her to treasure or hidden places; it was guiding her toward kindness.
That night, Aadya placed the compass on her bedside table and smiled. “Maybe I don’t need a magical compass to do the right thing,” she thought. “I just have to follow my heart.”
Moral of the Story:
Helping others and spreading kindness will always lead you in the right direction.
