The shabby carpenter

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a man named Jack. Jack was a kind and honest person, but unfortunately, he was not very rich. He lived in a small house and worked hard every day to make ends meet. He was a carpenter and loved making beautiful furniture.

One day, a rich merchant came to the village and announced that he was looking for a carpenter to make some furniture for his mansion. Jack was very excited and went to the merchant to offer his services. The merchant, however, looked at Jack’s simple clothes and shabby appearance and thought that he was not skilled enough to make furniture for him. So, he politely declined and left.

Jack felt sad and disappointed. He knew he was a skilled carpenter, but the merchant had judged him by his appearance. He decided to work harder and show everyone that he was not just a simple carpenter.

Jack started working on a beautiful piece of furniture that would showcase his skills. He spent hours carving and polishing the wood, and soon, the piece was ready. He took it to the merchant’s mansion and showed it to him. The merchant was impressed and asked Jack to make more furniture for him.

Jack worked hard and made the most beautiful furniture for the merchant’s mansion. The merchant was very happy with Jack’s work and paid him generously. Soon, Jack became famous for his exceptional work, and people started coming to him from far and wide to get their furniture made.

The moral of the story is that you should never judge a book by its cover. People may look simple or ordinary, but they may have hidden talents and abilities that you may not know about. So, always give everyone a fair chance and never underestimate anyone.
